Oloye Aare Apo of Oyotunji Kingdom (Chief Aare Apo)
Awo Ifajinmi-nire Oladunjoye Oludele
Awo Ifajinmi-nire (Shaughn Lee) was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. Raised in a two parent household with older parents, he lived in a house where going to church was mandatory. He started seeking the deeper meanings of life and knowledge of self around 17 years old. He watched countless hours of lectures by the great master teachers such as Dr. John Henry Clarke, Anthony Browder, Khalid Muhammed and a host of others. These giants helped to shape and mold his consciousness. Around 2001, Awo Ifajinmi-nire then started to dive into traditional african spirituality and never turned back. He felt a calling to immerse himself in African culture and tradition and chose the path of the Yoruba because it was accessible. His first godfather and teacher in the culture was Babalosha Efundeji in Norfolk, VA who was a pioneer in the African spiritual movement here in North America through the first Oba of Oyotunji Village and helped to establish the village as well. His second teacher was Chief Ademola Adeyemi also from Oyotunji village.
Awo Ifajinmi-nire was initiated into the EGUNGUN society in 2006 at Oyotunji Village by Chief Alagba Olaitan and Chief Ademola Adeyemi. His current Godfather since 2011 is Babalawo Ifabukunmi Adewale from Emmure, Ekiti Yorubaland Nigeria from the spiritual house of Ile ATEGBE. Awo Ifajinmi-nire was initiated into IFA, EGBE and EGUNGUN at the Ile ATEGBE compound in 2016 in Lagos Nigeria. Since then he was also initiated to AJE and ORO as well at the same compound. Awo Ifajinmi-nire is deeply thankful to OLODUMARE, the Ancestors, the ORISA and Oba Oseijeman for opening the way for African Americans to reconnect with our roots and culture here in North America
Awo Ifajinmi-nire is an active and practicing IFA priest doing his best to serve humanity with good character.
